Top Books of 2017

What a year! I read SO many good books in 2017! There were many series that I started or continued or finished, plus some wonderful stand-alones. Honestly, I could probably list a top 20 or 30, but there were some that really stood out to me this year which made it slightly easier to narrow it down to the top 10. Again, these are my favorite books that I read this year. I think almost all of them were also published in 2017, but many were not! I also did not include any rereads of books. So, without further ado, here they are, in order! Top 10 Books I Read in 2017 A Conjuring of Light - V. E. Schwab Oathbringer - Brandon Sanderson Strange the Dreamer - Laini Taylor No Good Deed - Kara Connolly When Breath Becomes Air - Paul Kalanithi The Hate U Give - Angie Thomas The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue - Mackenzie Lee Moxie - Jennifer Mathieu Daughter of the Pirate King  - Tricia Levenseller Illuminae  - Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman Honorable...

Best of 2016

Well, this was basically one of the hardest lists I've ever compiled. I read a plethora of good books this year. There were so many that were amazing, that I really enjoyed, and that I would highly recommend, but for this list, they had to have really made an impact (basically gotten a 5 and 4.5 star rating). It was extremely difficult for me to narrow them down to the Top 10, so I'm doing a Top 16 because it's 2016 and I'm just really awful at forcing myself to cut out books. And while I could just cut the list after #10, I loved numbers 11-16 just as much and didn't feel like it would accurately reflect my year without them. I didn't count any books that I'd read before and then reread this year. Also, while these are all books that I've read this year, though they weren't necessarily published in 2016 (though many were). My Top 16 Books of 2016 (in order): 1) The Female of the Species - Mindy McGinnis A gripping contemporary YA ...

Best of 2015

In 2015 I managed to read 75 books ! That tops the 62 I read in 2014. While I enjoyed almost every book I read, some of them stood out above the rest. My Top Ten of 2015: 1) A Darker Shade of Magic - V. E. Schwab A brilliant new fantasy with richly descriptive new worlds, engaging characters, and a fast-paced plot that makes you want to go on an adventure. 2) An Ember in the Ashes - Sabaa Tahir The author's debut book, a fantastic YA fantasy with compelling and relatable characters, a fascinating and diverse world, and incredible prose that moves the story through each of its twists and turns. 3) Edenbrooke - Julianne Donaldson Reminiscent of 'Pride & Prejudice', this is a wonderfully written story of finding love for a young woman in Regency-era England. 4) The Nightingale - Kristin Hannah A tear-inducing story that follows the journeys of two sisters struggling to make a difference and stay alive in France during WWII. 5) The Martian - Andy Weir...
